Kale is saying hello in Swedish this week in honour of my man, Roger Federer, winning his record-tying seventh Wimbledon title. Kris is a Nadal fan. This is why we're not married (kidding....kind of).

The low-down: Use our themes, use your own themes - just tell us what you're "currently" up to! This week our themes are: missing, dreaming, loving, laughing, and wishing. If you'd like to let us know what someone else is currently up to - your child, your partner, your grandma - we like that to!

Please remember to add your link at the bottom so we can find you, and copy and paste the button code into your post so others can find us and link up to! Also, be sure to visit the other participants and say hello - especially my lovely co-host Wendy at This Amazing Day!

I'm bailing on Kale this week and just sticking to what I'm currently up to.... I've got episodes of GIRLS to watch.

Missing one of my staple cardigan sweaters. Does this happen to you? You lose a piece of clothing and then you become convinced that your weird neighbour came into your house and stole it? Then you give him the side-eye all week and wonder what kind of freaky things he's doing to that sweater or if he's just using it as an oil rag in the garage. Then four weeks later you find it stuffed under a couch cushion and you're all like, "I know he snuck back in here and put that there!"

Oh, that doesn't happen to you. Weird.

Dreaming the craziest of dreams. Like always. I am one of those people that dreams so intensely that I sometimes have a hard time figuring out if something actually happened or if I just had a dream about it. Even when it's something completely insane - like spending four hours looking for an icebox in my childhood home with my 8th grade teacher. Did I actually do that last week? It's hard to say. I also have dreams where I'm not actually in it. It's like watching a movie. Sometimes I tell Kris about a dream and he'll ask me what I was doing and I'm all like, "what do you mean? I was DREAMING!" Apparently other people don't have dreams like this. And that's probably more than you need to know. Now you all think I'm crazy.

Loving that the heat wave is over. The temperatures this week have been absolutely perfect - hot, but not stifling. It's so nice to spend the evenings outside and to eat on the deck. It's so unfair that we only get a couple months of temperatures like this.

Laughing at Girls - my new favourite tv show. Is anyone else watching this show? This show gets it.

Wishing that I could somehow stay at home with Kale and continue working at my current job. I don't know - like multiply myself. Because I had to leave Kale at camp this morning in a hot mess of tears, asking "can I go home with mama, please?" and it SUCKED! And while his favourite teacher held him and soothed him, I had to go sit in my car and cry alone. Ugh, I hate this. Way to leave this on a positive, right?

Next week: cooking, making, working on, reading, and listening to.

  1. I caught an episode of "Girls" last week (the one where she accidently smokes crack)and loved it! Definitely need to jump on this band wagon!

    1. Bahahaha - I have not seen that one yet, but just thinking of it happening made me laugh. I asked my friend, who has watched the whole season, and she did say that it was a particularly funny episode.

  2. I want to see girls, but I don't have cable. So jealous!

Also, I promise that I wrote my Currently post yesterday and did not copy you when I also wrote that I love the weather, now that the heat wave is over. I guess great minds think alike!

  3. I absolutely love girls. I was devastated when I realized that the season finale was the season finale. Thankfully they signed on for a second season.

    1. I'm only on episode three, but will probably finish the season by the end of the weekend (that's my tv watching style...nothing, nothing, nothing, WATCH ALL THE THINGS!). Glad to hear there is a season 2 coming!

  4. Oh, I'm so sorry that you're having a hard time leaving Kale! It is a challenge, but overcomeable. Childcare workers are, on the whole, amazingly gifted at working with the kids to get them to relax into a daily routine! I struggled with my little one for quite a while but finally learned that consistency and and "rip it off like a bandaid" approach works well. He now ASKS to go to his classroom at church! Even on days that aren't church days!

    1. Thanks for your kind words and reassurance. We do our best to be consistent with our morning routine and to not linger at drop off. Today was a tiny bit better. But you're totally right - childcare workers are geniuses! They know what they're doing and are used to handling these issues.

  6. Love this meme! Mr.Awesome & I have been known to blame each other, the dog, random strangers when we lose clothing items before we realize that we were the ones who lost said item.

    1. I have no shame in blaming the cat either. I'm convinced he's building some kind of nest somewhere with all my missing clothes.

  7. All I want to do is hug you for the camp story. That sounds awful and I am so sorry you had to deal with that. I know it can't be easy. I'm sure he ended up having a great day, though, and hopefully yours got better too!

    1. The teachers do say that he calms down fairly quickly and enjoys the rest of the day. I do think it's harder on me than him!

  8. I'm not sure if Roger Federer understands Swedish, being from Switzerland...

    1. Bahahaha - you are totally right! My bad! That's embarrassing. I even checked Wikipedia hoping it would say he's fluent in Swedish - but no luck.
