Currently {v.6}

This week Kale is saying hello in french from Penetang, ON - where there is a significant concentration of Franco-Ontarians. I also grew up there. And I don't speak French. I do speak some Spanish.
The low-down: Use our themes, use your own themes - just tell us what you're "currently" up to! This week our themes are: inspired by, devouring, thankful for, watching, and starting. If you'd like to let us know what someone else is currently up to - your child, your partner, your grandma - we like that too!

Please remember to add your link at the bottom so we can find you, and copy and paste the button code into your post so others can find us and link up too! Also be sure to visit the other participants and say hello - especially my lovely co-host Wendy at This Amazing Day!

Inspired by water. It inspires him to take his clothes off. He sees water, he strips.

Devouring ice cream! This is by far Kale's favourite treat and one that I can rarely never say no to. Every now and then I try and steer him onto a healthy route and go for frozen yogurt, sorbet or a sugar-free popsicle. We even made homemade fruit pop's this week (I'll post about them later), but none of that compares to ice cream in Kale's eyes (or in mine!).

Thankful for mini-vacations and long-weekends. Kale has been pretty lucky these past couple of weeks because Kris and I have been off work more than usual and spending extra time with Kale and doing lots of fun stuff.

Watching bugs! Kale has taken a special interest in bugs lately - ever since we found the slug living under his chin. Now he's constantly watching out for beetles, ladybugs, ants and caterpillars. Now, if only we could teach him to be gentle with the bugs.......

Starting to string together some pretty hilarious sentences. The other day he snapped the chalk he was writing with and said "oh me god, I broke it!" I asked him to clean something up and he told me "no mama, Kale has a headache." I told him I didn't want to go swimming and he said "C'mon mama, it be fun!"

Inspired by the Bloggess book, Let's Pretend this Never Happened. Not only was it as funny as I expected, it was also incredibly inspiring. Her optimism and ability to see the humour in some of life's worst and hardest events is truly a gift and something I can learn from.

Devouring see Kale's devouring. The answer is still ice cream.

Thankful for parents that live on the waterfront. We had an ah-ma-zing weekend at my parents house this weekend - full of swimming, boating, hanging out on the beach, and drinking my dad's beer (some things never change).

Watching nothing on TV! You know how when all the season finale's are over and you're like, omg, what am I going to watch now?? I mean, I for one had a total panic attack when the final credits rolled for the season finale of Mad Men. No Don Draper all summer long?! Well, then you realize it's summer and sitting on the front porch drinking a beer at 9pm is a thousand times better than hanging out on the couch - even if Mr. Draper is involved.

Starting to feel like it's finally summer. With two great weekends away under our belts and things finally slowing down a little at work, it's actually starting to feel like summer and I LOVE IT.

Next weeks themes: Missing, Dreaming, Loving, Laughing, Wishing

  3. Wouldn't beer on the porch be even better if Don Draper was involved?
