THIS WEEKS THEMES:
Cooking, Reading, Wishing, Considering, Looking for

Kale is currently...

Cooking up a bad idea (and the odd batch of pretend coffee). With Kale, you can literally see him come up with a bad idea. It starts when he stops moving, and then he gets this far away look in his eyes, and you can just see the wheels turning... this is normally followed by him dumping a bag of cat food down the stairs or trying to ride his trike with his hands while standing on the seat. We do our best to snap him out of it as soon as we see the far away look, but most of the time we're too late...

Reading every book he can get his hands on. He's developed a major crush on books lately and is always asking me to read him a book. This is a welcomed change of pace, considering our other option involves running laps around the main floor.

Wishing he could live in a tent. Kale LOVED camping and was so excited to wake up in a tent every day. We arrived at night and Kale had fallen asleep in his car seat. We were Kris was able to set the tent up and then we transferred Kale in without him lifting an eyelid. In the morning he woke up to find himself in a tent and he basically told the entire campsite how awesome it was by screaming (with joy) "I'M IN A TENT! KALE IN A TENT!"

I am currently....

Cooking breakfast! This is definitely a perk of being on vacation - I have time to make myself breakfast! And my 'cooking' I mean, putting some granola, yogurt and berries into a bowl. Have you tried the Apple Walnut Delight granola from Love Grown Foods? You should probably go buy some right now.

Reading like a boss! I read TWO books in four days while we were camping. Amazing, right? Despite loving every page, I was reminded of why I can't regularly read like this. When I get started on a good book - I can't stop! Also, I get really upset when Emily Giffin ends her book as a set up for a sequel. Not fair, Emily, not fair.

Wishing that I could find a meaningful, well paying, part-time job. I mean, this is what we all want, no? Being home with Kale for the last week and a half has been amazing and I'm already dreading the end of vacation. While I know that I would never want to be a SAHM, a happy medium of working part-time would be nice.

Looking for my phone. I ask "has anyone seen my phone?" more often than "do you have to go pee?" If you're a parent of a toddler, then you know I look for my phone A LOT.

Thanks for all your feedback on our questions last week. Wendy and I are planning to keep the link-up running weekly, with new themes. We'll also be taking all of you who said they'd like to co-host up on your offer - as soon as we get ourselves organized!

  1. That cracks me up about the look! I don't have kids, but my cat does that. When he does something crazy, he gets that look in his eyes.

I wonder if Kale will keep that as a teenager? Might save you some trouble.

  2. Love Emily Giffin. My gals are big on books lately. They even like to snuggle with one, when they go to bed at night. Oh, and I couldn't be more excited that you ladies are keeping Currently a weekly event. I just adore it.

  3. I will be screaming this Saturday morning when I wake up in a tent - because I will probably have forgotten how I got there!

Did you read the new Emily Giffin? Don't spoil for me. I plan to finish it this weekend.

  4. Kingston has never been in a real tent, one outside our living room, but I know he would love it!
