Please remember to add your link below so others can find you and add the button below to your own post so others can find us and link up too!
Be sure to visit the other bloggers that are participating and say hello - especially my lovely co-host Wendy from This Amazing Day!

Kale is currently.....
Wishing that were clothes were optional everywhere. His clothes come off the second we get home or when he sees a body of water that he can swim in (or thinks he can - I've seen this kid strip for a puddle). I'm not really sure what the cut-off age is - like, when is no longer cute to see a toddler tush? Is that even possible?!?
Reading Finn Throws a Fit seems to be the current favourite. Which is fun because Kale has been throwing a few fits of his own these days. I'm assuming he's learned this from Finn.
Cooking Uh, nothing. Seriously - when can I expect him to figure out how to make a grilled cheese?
Anticipating camp! After three weeks of tears at drop off and a week of a pouty lip (oh it kills me when I see that lip, knowing he's trying to be brave and hold back the tears!!), Kale is finally loving camp and looking forward to going. Of course, next week is the last week and we get to do another big transition at the start of September at his new school. OF COURSE.
Missing the beach at my parents house. As tiring as it is for us to run after Kale all day, jumping in and out of the water from sun up to sun down, Kale absolutely loves it there and asks every day if we're going to visit.
Randalin is currently....
Wishing that there was more stability in our future. Kris, Kale and I are all in a place where our time with something is coming to an end and while we know where we're going, we don't really know what it'll look like when we get there. Some people - laid-back, go with the flow, short-term planners - are good with this sort of thing. I'm a type A, anal, over-analyzer, so I, uh, struggle with this sort of thing.
Reading Lots of new blogs! My new favourites are T.E. and Baby and The Stork in the Beanstalk (go say hi to her adorable new baby Van and her equally adorable toddler Hooper!). What blogs are you loving these days? Let me know!
Cooking Lunch stuff for Kale. I'm so over the lunches. Oh man. SO OVER IT. One more week to go...
Anticipating A couple weeks of vacation. I have the last two weeks of August off with my little man. We don't have anything major planned, but I'm hoping to do some of the things in the community that Kale and I normally can't do because I'm working and he's in school. Basically, we're going to crash all the mommy groups.
Missing having a good show to watch. With Downton Abbey and Girls not returning until January 2013 and I don't even have a start date for Mad Men, I'm without good TV. I'm trying to get into the Newsroom. Like really, really trying. Harder than I tried with Breaking Bad. I like Jeff Daniels. A lot. Like the storyline. I like the fact that there's a actress from Toronto in it. I cannot stand Emily Mortimer. I'm working through it, folks....or I'm trying to.
Next weeks themes: Happy about, Searching for, Making, Feeling, Going

I also hate the unknown. Hope everything works out for the better! and enjoy your time off for sure!! Love the play dates with little man!!

Thanks for the links to the blogs. I just checked out TE and Baby and can so relate to her - she's pregnant and parenting a toddler too.
ReplyDeleteOf course, the minute everyone starts to get used to something it has to change. That's the name of the game around here as well. I don't even want to think about what kind of a mess Cole and I are going to be in September.
The unknown can be so frustrating for me too. I just got Netflix so I am going to check out Downtown Abbey. Two weeks vacations sound wonderful to me!
ReplyDeletePrepare to be hooked!! You might need to take your own two week vacation just to get it all in.
DeleteIs Downton Abbey on Netflix? .. Better question, is there a chance I can convince my Chris to watch it once we're done with Breaking Bad?
DeleteUmmm...I might like Breaking Bad a lot more than I like Mad Men. You should have tried a lot harder, yo!
ReplyDeleteI tried TWICE! I watched the first four episodes both times and I still couldn't get into it.
DeleteAlso, I will not tell Don Draper you said that.
It gets really good near the end of the first season and then the second and third seasons just blew my mind. Enough that I wanted to quit my job start cooking meth in my tiny apartment. p.s. internet trollers - I really do not want to cook meth in my apartment - it's a joke like wanting to sell weed because Nancy Botwin makes it looks so sexy.
DeleteI'm missing good television as well. Wytmer keeps trying to get me to watch Big Brother with him and I'm just like, no. I think I'm going to start a countdown for the next season of Downton.
ReplyDeleteI'm really missing good television too. I'm super excited for Boardwalk Empire to come back on.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter also is naked more often than not. I really can't blame her though, it is August in Florida after all.
So I'm exactly where you are with Newsroom....why is it so hard to get in to?? In theory, I should love it. But, I just don't. Have you tried the shows Boss or Homeland? We're new to those two but they are SO good. Both are just moving in to season 2 in the next month or so.
ReplyDeleteKale and Seba... oh man these too are so similar. Maybe all kids are? I'm beginning to realize my son is not unique at all. They are like little robots who go thru the same stages at the exact same time.. while us parents got nuts and berserk over how AMAZING they are! hahahaha. it's awesome.
ReplyDeleteseba is the king of nakedness. i also wonder at what age we'll have to force him to wear clothes. he doesn't even like wearing swimming trunks! as soon as they get wet, he pulls them off and struts his bare ass on the beach. people stare. not sure if they think it's cute or disturbing.
FIN THROWS A FIT! i just ordered that book! Good to know it's a favourite... I feel more confident in my purchase now =)
i'm with you on the wishing for more stability. stefano is so calm and relaxed it drives me nuts sometimes. we're also in a limbo stage of life right now.
i'm blabbing.. but last thought: so HAPPY to hear the lunch making is driving you nuts. is that bad? but seriously... i was looking at all these cool lunches and thinking "how the heck does she do it all and not go nuts?!" seba is only signed up for half-day school this year and i'm already worrying about lunches. it's enough work having to think about what to cook for dinner every night!
i know what you mean about missing good tv. there is never any good shows starting up anymore. by the way i've given you a blog award over at http://endbottle.blogspot.ca/2012/08/fabulous-blog-award.html
ReplyDeleteope it wasn't me, womp womp haha that's ok i wondered where that would have come from and i'm very pleased to meetcha anyways! :) i have been valiantly trying to love Newsroom too and am hanging in there but something about it just isn't quite taking. hanging in though, hanging tough! and waiting a little impatiently for Justified to make its reappearance.
