Since last September, Kale has been in a half day program and while there were days I came close to losing my mind over the whole "picking him up on the other side of town on my lunch break" thing, for the most part, we reveled in the consistency of it all.
In a couple of weeks Kale will start a new school, in a full-day program, and our routine will change once again - just like it did when I went back to work after my parental leave, and when we started with a nanny, and when he started school.
In an effort to remember it all, I spent a day last week capturing our routine on my iPhone.

What a truly fantastic idea! Love the pictures and what they tell about your day. A fantastic memory of this time in your lives.

YES! I am so glad I am part of your routine. And holy balls your day is busy.

I thought you'd like that little cameo :)
DeleteWhat a busy day! This was a really cute post :)
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing your day in photos..what a cool way to tell a story. All the best, Monica
ReplyDeleteyou are SO cool. I actually won a free Blurb book, but I have to use it before the end of September... can I copy this idea? although our routine changes daily.
ReplyDeleteyou have NO idea how scared I am of November 1st when I go back to work and have to drop Saige off at pre-school and Gabe off at daycare before 8:30 am - kill.me.now.
I heart you.
and your little boy too.
DeleteOf course you can copy this idea!
DeleteDropping off two little ones in two different locations would be a bit nerve-wracking. I was totally freaked out about Kale and I both ready and out the door by 8am, but once we got into our groove it was easy peasy. You'll do fine :)
It's totally wrong how jealous I am of an 8:26 sleeping Kale. LOL
ReplyDeleteLove this post!
What about the 6am wake up?? Some days I would happily trade a later bedtime for a later rise in the morning.
DeleteHere's to changes! I hope the new brings good things. It's always so sad for kids when a disruption happens, but you'll soon be in a new swing! It was a good idea to capture snapshots of your day so you can have a record of what this season was like for your family.
ReplyDeleteI nominated your blog for the Liebster award. Come on by and "pick" it up. Hope you have a great day!

I really love this post and all the pictures, but that first shot of Kale in the morning is absolutely magical.
ReplyDeleteAhh, yes. Kale on the toilet at 6am. It's where we have some of our best conversations.
Delete6:13am - i'm in love! something about morning faces.. they get me every time.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this post. I loved looking at every picture, the expressions on your faces, what you were doing at the time. Just so awesome. I have no idea how to use photoshop, so I don't think I could ever even borrow this idea and put it on my blog, but the ideas are percolating and I'm going to try something like it soon.
