I am currently....trying to get caught up on emails and work stuff after having two weeks off. That's why I'm only do a 'currently' for Kale this week :) 

Kale is currently....

Disliking when we do anything for him. Kale wants to do everything "all by myself!" We're all about encouraging independence and letting him take the lead, but every now and then we forget and do something for him and OHMYGOD - the horror! 

Drinking water! Kale's first choice of beverage is always water and he drinks so much of it. I'm so happy that we don't have a kid that continually asks for juice (that stuff is expensive!). 

Learning to nap at school. This was one of my big concerns since Kris or I normally lay down with him until he falls asleep and Kris's mom has always rocked him to sleep for his afternoon nap. Now that he's in full day school, he has to nap there and of course - he does it with no problems. Apparently he just lies down and goes to sleep. No rocking. No nursing. No snuggling. And then he sleeps for two hours. Seriously - his teachers have magic powers. 

Loving his new school! His first day at his new school went really well, and day two went even better! It took lots of convincing to get him to leave school today. We try to encourage him to tell us what he did at school and sometimes he grants us with a stream of consciousness/recollection of "I drove the car and bounced the ball and took a poop and Wendy and Michelle sang a song and WHEELS ON THE BUS! Wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round...." 

Managing to watch The Lorax at least once a day. Kale has loved Pingu and Little Princess, but they are only ten minute episodes. He's never shown a big interest in television or movies - until we turned The Lorax on this weekend. I'm pretty sure we haven't turned it off since.
